If this: Highline Trail re: Rio Arriba County. This trail runs from Polvadera Peak to Chicoma Mountain (Rio Arriba's Highest) ...and is in the JEMEZ MOUNTAINS..NOT the San Juan. It refers to Abiquiu lots..so I assume it is. More infor in July or August when we'll be exploring it!

  Can’t wait to get out in nature, if you happen to be in Rio Arriba County of New Mexico, Highline Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. It's a long drive from Los Alamos to Highline Trail but if you're looking for a good place to go hiking this is a good choice. For the period of the months of summer here at Highline Trail, high temperatures commonly get into the 80's, and the night is somewhat cooler of course, frequently in the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are frequently in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows
    in the 0's to Highline Trail.
In the San Juan Mountains there are many great hiking trails, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. Highline Trail is a great spot to camp, Juniper Campground is a great spot, and a trip to Bandelier National Monument is recommended.
These mountains rock, just check out all the enjoyable things to do in the San Juan Mountains. Las Conchas Campground is a brilliant campground here; in the event that you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Chama. You'll meet a lot of folks from Los Alamos here, and whitewater paddling is great on Rio Grande. At Highline Trail you don’t see much precipitation; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is April.
If you are in New Mexico during hiking season you have to go hiking.
