  Hey, time for a hike don’t you think? McKenzie Trail in Catron County, New Mexico is a perfect place for getting out. Camping is available at Willow Creek Campground, and there's whitewater on San Francisco River for all you adrenaline rush seekers.
There's no way somebody can get bored here in the San Francisco Mountains. Why not camp at Ben Lilly Campground if you're here at McKenzie Trail, and a short trip to Turkeyfeather Spring is always worthwhile. Through the warm days of summer at McKenzie Trail highs are usually in the 80's, and throughout
    the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's, and overnight lows in the 10's for McKenzie Trail. McKenzie Trail being so far away from the nearest city if you're looking for a good place to go hiking this is a good choice.
Whitewater
paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Gila River, and Turkeyfeather Pass is another wonderful place to have a look at nearby. McKenzie Trail gets very little rain; August is the wettest month with most rain; the driest of the months is May. In the San Francisco Mountains there are many great hiking trails where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains.
Hiking here in New Mexico is a must.
