There are many hiking trails in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains.
If time allows, Bandelier National Monument is a national park worth checking out, and whitewater paddling is not for
    everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Rio Grande. During the long summer days at Pajarito Canyon Trail highs are mostly in the 80's while night lows are commonly in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are mostly in the 40's while Pajarito Canyon Trail overnight

Pajarito Canyon Trail is a long drive away from Los Alamos but there's great natural beauty awaiting you along it. Get your pulse rate up on the delightful whitewater of Rio Chama. Not much precipitation falls here at Pajarito Canyon Trail; August is when you get the most rain here, and April meanwhile is the driest month.

and Jemez Mountains for a good time. Pajarito Spring is a glorious local attraction, and if you came to camp Las Conchas Campground is a good site to do that. Put some time aside to spend at Armstead Spring while you're here at Pajarito Canyon Trail; Canada Bonita is a splendid place to visit.
