  If you are in New Mexico during hiking season you have to go hiking. If you came to camp Las Conchas Campground is a glorious place to do that, and in the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Chama.
Finally, hiking time is here again, and Rechuelos Trail in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico is a good choice. This location, the San Juan Mountains, has so much outdoors fun things. While you're here at Rechuelos Trail you will meet lots of people from close by Los Alamos, and do pay a visit to Bandelier
    National Monument while you're here at Rechuelos Trail. Throughout the summer months, highs generally are in the 80's at Rechuelos Trail. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and nighttime
lows through the wintertime for Rechuelos Trail tend to be in the 0's.
There are many wonderful hiking trails in the San Juan Mountains, it's a great hiking area. A long drive separates Los Alamos from Rechuelos Trail, but trails like these are great. Rechuelos Trail is a location that is pretty dried out generally; during the month of August you get the most rain around here while April is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Whitewater paddling is tremendous on Rio Grande, and Rechuelos Trail is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Abiquiu Inn is a splendid local campground.
