It's a wonderful idea to explore Oso Creek, it's close to Redonda Trail, and Redonda Trail is great enough to spend more than a day at, Rio Puerco Campground is a great local campground. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the San Juan Mountains. A quick journey
| to Rito Redondo in the neighborhood of Redonda Trail is a good idea, and in the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Chama. Redonda Trail is pretty dried out usually; the month with most of the rain is August while April is commonly the driest month.
There are many wonderful hiking trails in the San Juan Mountains, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. No chance of getting bored in New Mexico if you like the outdoors.
