| | We all need to get out in nature once in a while and if you happen to be in Grant County of New Mexico, Sapillo Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Black Range. Don't miss out on a visit to Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument while you're here at Sapillo Trail, and during your journey here you'll meet some folks from Silver City for sure. Pine Flats Campground is a pleasant local campground.
There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Black Range, there's no better |
way to enjoy these mountains. Why not camp at Upper End Campground while you're here at Sapillo Trail, and Gila River has a good whitewater paddling spot close by. You'll have to go far from Silver City to get to Sapillo Trail but It's always fun to hike here.

| New Mexico has a great deal of available outdoors activities. During the warm days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Sapillo Trail; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Sapillo Trail descend into the 10's. Not much precipitation falls here at Sapillo Trail; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest of the months is April.
