You can run the rapids of Gila River in the vicinity of Stub Trail, and Stub Trail is a brilliant site to camp, Willow Creek Campground is a brilliant site. There's no way someone can get bored here in the San Francisco Mountains. Get your heart beating on the tremendous whitewater of San Francisco River, and camping at Stub Trail is great fun, Ben Lilly Campground is a great local campground. This is such a fun river. We all need to get out in nature once in a while and      Stub Trail in Catron County, New Mexico is the outdoors at it's best. Not much rain falls here at Stub Trail; the wettest month of the year is typically August, that's the one that rains the most, and April on the other hand is the driest. In the San Francisco Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails where wonderful nature is waiting for you. New Mexico is a good place for outdoors people.
