  The Military Road is a long drive away from Silver City but when you spend some time hiking here you will feel like a whole new person. Don't miss out on a trip to Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument if you're here at The Military Road, and Gila River has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot nearby.
This part of New Mexico is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. Can’t wait to get out in nature, The Military Road in Grant County, New Mexico is just the place. Hiking trails like this one are plentyful in the Black Range where you can truly
    take in all the beauty of these mountains.
For the period of the days of summer, highs generally are in the 80's at The Military Road. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. All through the winter the highs are frequently in the 50's, and overnight
lows at The Military Road through the winter mostly dip into the 10's. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Black Range has to offer. You're sure to stumble upon some nice folks from Silver City here; camping is available at Upper End Campground. A short spree to Railroad Spring is always worthwhile, and camping at Mesa Campground is always a pleasant experience.
Not much rain falls here at The Military Road; July is the wettest month with most rain, and April on the other hand is the driest.
