Stone Dam Trail

Hiking trails are all over the Adirondack Mountains where wonderful nature is waiting for you. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and if you happen to be in Herkimer County of New York, Stone Dam Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. In New York you never run out of outdoors fun.
You'll have to go far from Utica-Rome to get to Stone Dam Trail but it is a good trail. Here at Stone Dam
Trail you'll almost certainly meet some folks from Forestport. There's so much to do here at Stone Dam Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Kayuta Lake Campground is a wonderful location for that. So much exciting stuff in
the Adirondack Mountains, just incredible. Pixley Falls State Park is a fine site, and get covered with water paddling on Woodhull Creek. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Stone Dam Trail has to offer, you can camp at Trails End. Whitewater paddling is delightful on Little Woodhull Creek; let's not forget Stone Dam Creek which is a stream that you may stumble upon during your stay. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Mulchy Spring.
Stone Dam Trail sees pretty high levels of rainfall. The wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. At Stone Dam Trail through the summertime months highs are in the 70's.
