Garland Trail

  Finally, hiking time is here again, and if you happen to be in Pushmataha County of Oklahoma, Garland Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. There are many hiking trails in the Ouachita Mountains, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. This part of Oklahoma has a great deal of available outdoors activities.
You'll have to go far from McAlester to get to Garland Trail but hiking it is great fun any time. A wonderful place
    for whitewater paddling close to Garland Trail is Little River. There's so much to do here at Garland Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Indian Mounds Camp is a good place for that. Man, is there loads of amusing stuff
to do in the Ouachita Mountains. Rocky Creek is a fine whitewater spot in the vicinity of Garland Trail; you'll meet a lot of people from Nashoba here. Garland Trail is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Clancey's Cabins and RV Park is a fine local campground. Garland Trail is a rather wet place ordinarily with a lot of precipitation. Throughout the month of May you get the most rain around here, and January is when it's the driest. Summertime highs at  
Garland Trail frequently tend to be in the 90's while nighttime lows are ordinarily in the 60's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 50's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Garland Trail temperatures fall to the 20's.
