  Big Timber Spur is not very near Sayre at all but you always have a good time when you're hiking along it. Big Timber Spur gets a normal amount of precipitation; most of the rain falls through June while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If you are in Pennsylvania during hiking season you have to go hiking.
During the summer at Big Timber Spur temperatures are typically in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 30's; night lows in the 10's for Big Timber Spur. You'll meet
    a lot of folks from Sayre here, and if you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Little Loyalsock Creek. Just can't get enough of Big Timber Spur. Looking for some flowing water? Try Tamarack Run.
Nearby Pleasant Valley is
a good location to go if you're at Big Timber Spur; Sones Pond Dam is a pretty location. Shanerburg Run is a great local stream; why not camp at Pioneer Campground while you're here at Big Timber Spur. A great location for whitewater paddling right next door to Big Timber Spur is Loyalsock Creek, and if you came for an overnight stay Rocky Valley Campground is a delightful spot to camp.
