Carpenter Trail is located quite a long drive from Corning but trails like these are great. Carpenter Trail is a good spot of normal rainfall; June is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is January. Hills Creek State Park is a fine local campground; do explore East Branch Canada Run since you're here at Carpenter Trail. There are some good whitewater spots on Pine Creek; you could always discover Spoor Hollow. During     the days of summer at Carpenter Trail temperatures are frequently in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's, and night lows throughout the winter for Carpenter Trail tend to be in the 10's. There's whitewater on Stony Fork Creek for all you adrenaline kick people; if you came for an overnight stay Stony Fork Creek Campground is a great spot to camp.
