Colon Trail

A long drive separates State College from Colon Trail, but hiking it is great fun any time. Everybody loves Treaster Kettle, and a good place for whitewater paddling is Kishacoquillas Creek. Ross Spring is always fun to check out, and close by you discover Stone Gap which is a magnificent place to check out. Big Kettle is a good location here at Colon Trail; Idle Acres Camping Area is a splendid local campground. Chestnut Spring is a delightful location to
stop by while you're at Colon Trail, and you'll probably meet some people from Boalsburg here. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up. If you came for an overnight stay Bob Kearns Campgrounds is a wonderful location to camp.
Colon Trail is a good location of typical rain. Most of the rain falls during June, and the driest month is January. During the warm months, highs regularly are in the 80's at Colon Trail. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Colon Trail temperatures descend to the 10's.
