Dark Hollow Trail is a trail quite far from Lock Haven but hiking it is great fun any time. McCloskey Run is a great location to go to. There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Young Womans Creek, and the great people of Lock Haven like to hang out close by. Some of the water nearby flows, like Ferney Run; a tremendous place to camp here at Dark Hollow Trail is Sunrise Campgrounds. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Slate Run; Dark Hollow Trail     is great enough to spend more than a day at, Little Place Camping Area is a great local campground. From a rainfall point of view Dark Hollow Trail is a reasonably common spot; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summertime highs at Dark Hollow Trail generally tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's.
