Dead Horse Trail

A long drive separates State College from Dead Horse Trail, but hiking is such a fun thing to do and this is a great place to do that. A fine place to stop at next to Dead Horse Trail is Holt Hollow, and Sinnemahoning State Park is a good place to stretch your legs a bit. Dead Horse Trail is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Kettle Creek State Park is a magnificent local campground. If you come at the right time of year, Moshannon River offers
some great whitewater. The fine people of Karthaus like to hang out nearby, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Black Moshannon Creek. There's so much to do here at Dead Horse Trail
