| | It's a long drive from Sayre to Detters Trail but it is a fun place to hike for the whole family. It's a pleasant idea to visit Barkshed Run, it's in close proximity to Detters Trail, and if you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Loyalsock Creek. Buttermilk Falls Campground is a magnificent local campground; Elk Creek is a good whitewater spot close by.
Pioneer Campground is a good campground nearby; you're sure to come across some good folks from Sayre here. The amount of rain that falls at Detters Trail is |
close to the national average; through the month of June you get the most rain around here; the driest month is January. Dry Run Falls is an inspiring spot to explore while you're here, and a quick journey to Cape Run is certainly a good idea.
