| | This part of Pennsylvania is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. What a site this is for outdoors folks. North Run is a splendid local stream. Take a side visit to Smays Run; you can run the rapids of Moshannon River.
Dry Hollow Trail is a tremendous place to camp, Hemlock Acres Campground is a tremendous place, and the scenery at Kephart Dam is charming. High temperatures at Dry Hollow Trail through the long summer days are in the 70's while night lows are generally in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's; nighttime |
lows in the 10's for Dry Hollow Trail. People from State College love to come to Dry Hollow Trail; Snow Shoe Park is a good campground here.
There's whitewater on Black Moshannon Creek for all you adrenaline people; Moshannon State Forest is worth going to. Dry Hollow Trail gets much water; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and January on the other hand is the driest.
