| | A visit to Pennsylvania is not complete without some hiking. It's a long drive from Williamsport to Grandad Trail but hiking along this trail is very enjoyable. This river is so wonderful. Grandad Trail is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, The Best Beach Campground is a brilliant local campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Elk Creek offers some brilliant whitewater.

rains the most, and January meanwhile is the driest month. There's so much to do here at Grandad Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Girl Scouts is a tremendous place for that. Hessler Branch is in the neighborhood of Grandad Trail and is always a diversion to stop by;
| you're sure to come across some cheerful people from Williamsport here.
Through the summertime months highs here at Grandad Trail get into the 80's; the overnight is rather cooler of course, generally in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Grandad Trail. There's some flowing water nearby, Grandad Run is a stream you can go to during your stay, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Miners Run. | |
