| | Jim Close Trail is located quite a long drive from Corning but when you hike it you're always having a good time. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Stony Fork Creek. Jim Close Trail is great enough to spend more than a day at, Stony Fork Creek Campground is a great local campground, and while you're here why not have a look at Carpenter Hollow.
Jim Close Trail is a good location of typical precipitation; June is the month that gets the most rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month. There are some |
wonderful whitewater spots on Pine Creek, and a quick spree to Left Straight Run is without doubt a great idea. A great site to camp here at Jim Close Trail is Hills Creek State Park; naturally Right Straight Run flows through this region.
