You'll have to go far from State College to get to Johnson Trail but it is a good trail. Looking for some flowing water? Try Detweiler Run, and you'll meet a lot of people from State College here. Put some time aside to spend at Ross Spring if you're here at Johnson Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Kishacoquillas Creek offers some pleasant whitewater. Ruff Gap     is a great location to explore, and Johnson Trail is a brilliant location to camp, Hemlock Acres Campground is a brilliant location. Johnson Trail gets a normal amount of rainfall; June is the wettest month with most rain, and January is when it's the driest. You assume that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. This is a really good river. Do set aside some time for Big Kettle if you're here at Johnson Trail; camping at Johnson Trail is tremendous fun, Idle Acres Camping Area is a tremendous local campground. Throughout the months of summer here at Johnson Trail, high temperatures mostly get into the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's.
