| | While visiting this area in Pennsylvania it's a good idea to go hiking too. You'll have to go far from Lewistown to get to Keen Trail but it is a fun place to hike for the whole family. If you came to camp Shoop's Country Campground is a good site to do that, and since you're here, you could explore Shaeffer Run.
During the warm months here at Keen Trail, high temperatures usually get into the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's. Throughout the winter the highs are frequently in the 30's while Keen Trail overnight low temperatures |

all through the wintertime are in the 10's. Keen Trail is a site with many visitors from Lewistown, and a magnificent location for whitewater paddling is Kishacoquillas Creek. This is such a great river. There's so much to do here at Keen Trail that you need to camp here for a
| while, Dogwood Acres is a great place for that.
From a rainfall point of view Keen Trail is a pretty common place; June is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is January. | |
