Matson Trail is located quite a long drive from Corning but when you spend some time hiking here you will feel like a whole new person. Throughout the warm months, highs mostly are in the 70's at Matson Trail. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's with temperatures at Matson Trail dipping down into the 10's all through winter     nights. Camping is available at Hills Creek State Park, and Pine Creek is a nice whitewater spot close by. Take a little tour to East Branch Canada Run if you're here at Matson Trail. Looking for some flowing water? Try Horse Run, and in case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Stony Fork Creek. Camping at Stony Fork Creek Campground is always a glorious experience, and a great spot to visit nearby is Oil Well Hollow.
