| | You'll have to go far from State College to get to Musser Trail but hiking along this trail is very enjoyable. If you are in Pennsylvania during hiking season you have to go hiking. Summer at Musser Trail comes with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Musser Trail sink into the 10's.
From a rainfall point of view Musser Trail is a relatively typical site; June is the wettest month with most rain; |

the driest month of the year is January. There's whitewater on Kishacoquillas Creek for all you adrenaline people, and get your heart beating on the fine whitewater of Black Moshannon Creek. Shingletown Branch is next to Musser Trail and is always a joy to go to, and a wooded region
| close by is Rothrock State Forest.
If you're here, you might as well visit Musser Gap. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Musser Trail has to offer, you can camp at Idle Acres Camping Area. Musser Trail is a delightful spot to visit for more than one day, Hemlock Acres Campground is a delightful spot to camp nearby, and this is a popular place for folks from State College. If only every site had this much outdoors amusing stuff, what a great world it would be.
