A long drive separates State College from North Run Trail, but what a great place for hiking it is. If you came for an overnight stay Hemlock Acres Campground is a good place to camp; you can run the rapids of Moshannon River. Any time is a wonderful time at North Run Trail if you adore the outdoors. At Kephart Dam close to North Run Trail there are some out of the ordinary things to see.

There's some flowing water close by, Smays Run is a stream you can stop at while you're here; this is a popular site for folks from State College.
