  A long drive separates Scranton—Wilkes-Barre from Refuge Trail, but it is a fun place to hike for the whole family. A river like this is too good to miss. If you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bear Creek, and why not camp at Lehigh Gorge Campground since you're here at Refuge Trail. Spring Brook is a glorious whitewater spot near Refuge Trail, and a good spot to camp here at Refuge Trail is WT Family Camping.
Lots of people from Scranton—Wilkes-Barre come to Refuge Trail, and don't forget to take
    a magnificent little tour to Spring Run. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Refuge Trail while nighttime lows are frequently in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's, and nighttime lows all through the wintertime for Refuge
Trail tend to be in the 10's.
A visit to Pennsylvania is not complete without some hiking. Refuge Trail gets a typical amount of annual rainfall; July is the wettest month with most rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month.
