| | Pretty far from Gettysburg you find Ridge Trail but hiking it is great fun any time. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in nature a bit and if you happen to be in Cumberland County of Pennsylvania, Ridge Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. This part of Pennsylvania is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. This river is so perfect. In case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Conewago Creek - West, and you're sure to bump into some nice people from |

From a rain point of view Ridge Trail is a pretty typical place; most of the rain falls throughout June while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Ridge Trail has to offer, you can camp
| at Mountain Creek Campground; close by Kings Gap Hollow is a fine place to go.
High temperatures at Ridge Trail all through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's, and the night is a tad cooler of course, usually in the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's; overnight lows in the 20's for Ridge Trail. There's so much to do here at Ridge Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Tagg Run Camp Ground is a pleasant place for that; whitewater paddling is tremendous on Bermudian Creek. | |
