Rising Mountain Trail

  A visit to Pennsylvania is not complete without some hiking. Canít wait to get out in nature, Rising Mountain Trail in Perry County, Pennsylvania is the outdoors at it's best. It's a long drive from Lewistown to Rising Mountain Trail but it's one of those places where hiking is great. There's some flowing water nearby, Browns Run is a stream you can pop by during your stay. Paddling on Kishacoquillas Creek is so much fun; Big Spring Run is one of the streams
    nearby that might be worth checking out. If you came to camp Roxbury Holiness Camp is a pleasant location to do that, and you're sure to encounter some fine folks from East Waterford here. Rising Mountain Trail is good enough to spend
more than a day at, Dogwood Acres is a good local campground. For the period of the summertime at Rising Mountain Trail temperatures are mostly in the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 60's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Rising Mountain Trail plunge into the 10's. From a precipitation point of view Rising Mountain Trail is a rather typical spot. The month of June is the wettest with most of the rain while January is frequently the driest month.
