| | Sheriff Trail is not very near Lewistown at all but it sure is a nice trail. Outdoors people generally like this part of Pennsylvania. At Sheriff Trail during the summertime months highs are in the 80's while nighttime lows are frequently in the 60's. Highs through the winter are generally in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Sheriff Trail during the wintertime typically sink into the 10's. There's some flowing water nearby, South Branch Laurel Run is a stream you can have a look at while here. There's so much to do here at Sheriff Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Dogwood Acres is a fine place for that. If you came to camp
| Kennedy Valley Recreation Area is a perfect location to do that, and you're sure to encounter some cheerful folks from Lewistown here. This river is a great place to visit.
