| | Short Trail is located quite a long drive from State College but when you spend some time hiking here you will feel like a whole new person. And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do next to Short Trail. In Pennsylvania you never run out of outdoors fun.
Whitewater paddling is delightful on Moshannon River; good water scenery is available at Kephart Dam next to Short Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Short Trail has to offer, you can camp at Snow Shoe Park; in case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can |
always go whitewater paddling on Black Moshannon Creek. There's so much to do here at Short Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Hemlock Acres Campground is a brilliant location for that, and of course North Run flows through this region.
There are plenty of people
| from State College here at Short Trail, and there's some flowing water close by, Benner Run is a stream you can have a look at while here. Summertime highs at Short Trail ordinarily tend to be in the 70's, and the overnight is a bit chillier of course, usually in the 50's. Highs all through the winter are generally in the 20's while Short Trail overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. Short Trail sees pretty high levels of rain; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily June, that's the one that rains the most while January is typically the driest month.
