| | Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in nature a bit and Smays Trail in Centre County, Pennsylvania is the outdoors at it's best. Hiking here in Pennsylvania is a must. McDonald Hollow is in the neighborhood of Smays Trail and is a great location, and if you came to camp Hemlock Acres Campground is a delightful place to do that.
Some of the water nearby flows, like Smays Run, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Black Moshannon Creek. So many fun things to do at Smays Trail, so little time. If you're dropping by Smays Trail from State |
College, you won't be the only one. A great deal of rainfall falls at Smays Trail; June is the wettest month with most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
close to Smays Trail you'll come across a wooded area called Moshannon State Forest,
| and there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Moshannon River. All through the warm days of summer at Smays Trail highs are generally in the 70's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Smays Trail are in the 10's. Shirks Run is a splendid location to stop at. There's so much to do here at Smays Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Snow Shoe Park is a great spot for that.
