| | Weaver Trail is a long drive away from State College but hiking is such a fun thing to do and this is a great place to do that. Some good nature is available in Sproul State Forest; of course Panther Branch flows through this region.
Summer brings highs in the 70's to Weaver Trail while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's. All through the winter highs are frequently in the 20's; overnight lows during the wintertime for Weaver Trail tend to be in the 10's. Weaver Trail is a glorious location to camp, Fort Bellefonte Campground is a glorious location, |
and get your heart beating on the delightful whitewater of Cross Fork. The high level of precipitation makes Weaver Trail a quite wet spot; June is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is January.
This is such a great river. Snow Shoe Park is a magnificent campground
| | here, and there are plenty of folks from State College here at Weaver Trail. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Young Womans Creek. | |
