| | Finally, hiking time is here again, and Wingard Trail in Potter County, Pennsylvania is the outdoors at it's best. A long drive separates Lock Haven from Wingard Trail, but it is a great escape from the city. Wingard Trail is a good place of typical precipitation; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is January. This river is a great place to visit. Wingard Trail is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Ox Yoke Inn is a wonderful local campground, and Young Womans Creek is a great whitewater |
spot close by.
A fine site to camp here at Wingard Trail is Austin Campground, and don't forget to take a delightful little visit to Sunken Branch. Hopper House Hollow is a magnificent place to explore close by, and you can run the rapids of Cross Fork.
