| | We all need to get out in nature once in a while and Walkabout Trail in Providence County, Rhode Island is a good choice. You don't have to go far from Walkabout Trail to enjoy George Washington Memorial State Forest, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Quinebaug River. Walkabout Trail is a reasonably wet place typically with a large amount of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is November, and the driest month of the year is February. A long drive separates Willimantic from Walkabout Trail, but trails like
| these are great. There are some good whitewater spots on Clear and Branch; during your tour here you'll meet some folks from Willimantic for sure.
So much exciting stuff to do at Walkabout Trail, so little time. All through the summertime at Walkabout Trail temperatures are generally in the 80's. Summer night lows dip down to the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Walkabout Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Walkabout Trail has to offer, you can camp at Bowdish Lake Camping Area, and Bowdish Reservoir Dam is not far at all from Walkabout Trail.
