I hiked the bullen Hollow trail 2-2-08 with the Geenevile hiking club. This is an old atv trail and the first part is very steep climbing up through mountain laurel and hardwoods.After you reach the ridge line the trail levels and skirts the edge of a small canyon,with views of huge cliffs on the other side.Margarette falls are below this trail and you can here the creek all along the way.There is a nice lunch spot at the top when you reach an old logging road.I would rate this trail as moderate.Total milage 5 miles. National Geographic map # 782 will show you how to get to the trail head.

Hiking trails like this one are plentyful in the Great Smoky Mountains, it's a great hiking area. Jones Meadow is a picturesque location any time of year. There's so much to do here at Bullen Hollow Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Round Knob Campground is a tremendous place for that. Drift down the rapids of Big Laurel Creek in a kayak, and Bullen Hollow Trail is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Horse Creek Campground | |

A pleasant visit to Jones Meadow is a good way to spend an afternoon; why not a little side visit to West Fork Dry Creek. Bullen Hollow Trail is not very near Greeneville at all but hiking it is great fun any time.
