| | Hiking in Tennessee is such a great thing to do. Time to get out and breathe some fresh air, and California Trail in Unicoi County, Tennessee is a perfect place for getting out. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Great Smoky Mountains. Looking for some flowing water? Try South Indian Creek, and a tour to Banner Hill Spring will fill your soul with nice feelings.
California Trail ordinarily gets a large amount of rain; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and October is the month with the least moisture. |
Camping at Riverpark Campground is always a brilliant experience, and close by you hit upon Canah Hollow which is a wonderful spot to check out. Pretty far from Johnson City you find California Trail but when you spend some time hiking here you will feel like a whole new person.
| California Creek is a pleasant local stream, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Johnson City here. This is no location for people who don’t like to have fun. You can run the rapids of Nolichucky River right next door to California Trail; there's whitewater on Nolichucky River for all you adrenaline people. In the Great Smoky Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails where wonderful nature is waiting for you.

California Trail is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Nolichucky Gorge Campground is a wonderful local campground; do put some time aside to spend at Love Spring since you're here at California Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Great Smoky Mountains.
