  There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. Outdoors people generally like this part of Tennessee. That right there is plenty already, but it goes on; Deer Trail has it all. Little River has a delightful whitewater paddling spot nearby, and a great site to camp here at Deer Trail is Mountain Lake Marine and Campground. Be careful coming to the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, you might not ever wanna go back home again. The trees of Norris Forestry Research Area are a great source
    of shade on hot summer days, and swing by Cove Creek it's a tremendous place to visit.
Deer Trail regularly gets a lot of precipitation; March is the wettest month with most rain while October is typically the driest month. Deer Trail is a place with many visitors from La Follette;
a splendid site is Miller Hollow.
Some of the water nearby flows, like Clear Creek; a short visit to Williams Spring is always worthwhile. Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, Deer Trail in Anderson County, Tennessee is a perfect place for getting out. Deer Trail is not very near La Follette at all but there's great natural beauty awaiting you along it.
That right there is plenty of cool stuff already but it goes on, the Cumberland Plateau Mountains has it all. Clear Creek Spring is an inspiring place to check out during your
 
stay; in the event that you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cumberland River - Clear Fork. Through the summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at Deer Trail. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's; night lows in the 20's for Deer Trail.
Not far from Deer Trail you obtain some great water scenery at Norris Dam, and camping at Fox Inn Campground is always a delightful experience.
