  Time to get out and breathe some fresh air, and if you happen to be in Pickett County of Tennessee, Ridge Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Glide down the rapids of Pine Creek in a kayak; you can stay the night at Saddle Valley Campground. This part of Tennessee is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season.
Summertime highs at Ridge Trail ordinarily tend to be in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; through the dark hours in the winter at Ridge Trail
    temperatures fall to the 20's. Ridge Trail sees pretty high levels of rainfall; most of the rain falls through December; October meanwhile is the driest month. Some of the water nearby flows, like Natural Bridge Creek. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Ridge Trail
has to offer, you can camp at Big South Fork Lodge Campground and Motel.
Ridge Trail is a very long way away from civilization and it is one of many great trails in this area. Hiking trails are all over the Cumberland Plateau Mountains where wonderful nature is waiting for you. That right there is a heap of fun things already but it goes on, the Cumberland Plateau Mountains has it all. Paddling on North White Oak Creek is so much fun, and swing by Watson Branch it's a magnificent spot to stop at.
A trip to Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area is worthwhile.
