  Hitting the trails is always a fun thing to do and Ridge Trail in Pickett County, Tennessee is a perfect place for getting out. Tennessee has so much to offer nature lovers. Ridge Trail is a reasonably wet place typically with lots of rain; through December this area sees the most rain while October is ordinarily the driest month.
Camping at Ridge Trail is glorious fun, Great Meadow Campground is a glorious local campground. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Ridge Trail, and the overnight is a tad cooler of course, ordinarily
    in the 60's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Ridge Trail. Natural Bridge Creek is a nice local stream, and get soaked paddling on Pine Creek.
And if that's not enough there's plenty more amusing stuff to do in
the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay Charit Creek Campground is a glorious site to camp, and if you have time to spare, Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area is a national park worth taking a look at. In the Cumberland Plateau Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails where beautiful scenery awaits you. Ridge Trail being so far away from the nearest city when you spend some time hiking here you will feel like a whole new person.
Take a side trip to Watson Branch; paddling on North White Oak Creek is so much fun.
