  Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Short Spur Trail in Sullivan County, Tennessee is a perfect place for getting out. Stay the night at Low Gap Campground 1, and glorious water scenery is available at Bent Branch Spillway near Short Spur Trail. An average amount of rain falls at Short Spur Trail; most of the rain falls during July, and the driest month is October.
Here at Short Spur Trail there are plenty of people from Bristol, and if you come at the right time of year, Doe River - Laurel Fork offers
    some great whitewater. Visit Roaring Fork if you're here at Short Spur Trail, and glide down the rapids of Holston River in a kayak.
This is no spot for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. High temperatures at Short Spur Trail through the summer are in the 80's. Through
the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Short Spur Trail. This is a really good river. Don't forget to take a pleasant little tour to Morrell Creek; Short Spur Trail is a good site to camp, Low Gap Campground 2 is a good site.
