Myself and two buddies hiked up Wolf Ridge Trail on 1/18/06 in wintery, full moon conditions. We started the hike around 9:30PM and got to the broad summit of Big Frog shortly after midnight in 2 inches of snow and the wind had to be 25mph or so. Hunter

  Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, if you happen to be in Polk County of Tennessee, Wolf Ridge Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Outdoors people generally like this part of Tennessee. Nearby Bear Wallow is a splendid site to go if you're at Wolf Ridge Trail, and hey, West Fork Beech Creek is a perfect local stream.
Wolf Ridge Trail is a wet location that gets a lot of rain; March is the wettest month with most rain while October is commonly the driest month. Paddling on Big Creek is so much fun,
    and there are plenty of folks from Cleveland here. You'll have to go far from Cleveland to get to Wolf Ridge Trail but it is one of many great trails in this area.
During the summertime months at Wolf Ridge Trail highs are commonly in the 80's while night lows are ordinarily
in the 60's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Wolf Ridge Trail are in the 20's. All the outdoors cool things in the Great Smoky Mountains will keep you coming back over and over. A perfect beach in the neighborhood of Wolf Ridge Trail is Parksville Beach, and get soaked paddling on Jack's River. There are many hiking trails in the Great Smoky Mountains where wonderful nature is waiting for you.
What a location this is for outdoors folks. Wolf Ridge Trail is fine enough to spend more than a day
 
at, A and B Campground is a fine local campground. Some of the water nearby flows, like Penitentiary Branch. There's so much to do here at Wolf Ridge Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Sylco Campground is a glorious place for that.
