Chimneys Trail

  Because Chimneys Trail is very far from civilization hiking it is great fun any time. Canít wait to get out in nature, Chimneys Trail in Brewster County, Texas is just the place. There are some great whitewater spots on Rio Grande, and you can stay the night at Chisos Basin. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Terlingua Creek, and Chimneys Trail is a magnificent spot to visit for more than one day, Cottonwood Campground is a magnificent spot to camp nearby. Big
    Bend National Park is a fine national park, and a short tour to Burro Spring is always worthwhile. For the duration of the months of summer at Chimneys Trail temperatures are regularly in the 100's, and the overnight is a tad cooler
of course, usually in the 70's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 60's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Chimneys Trail plunge into the 30's. Not much precipitation falls here at Chimneys Trail. September is the wettest month with most rain, and March is the month with the least moisture.
