  Texas is a great place for hikers. Lake Trail is a trail quite far from Austin-Round Rock but it is a good trail. Pecan Grove RV Park is a fine campground here, and some of the water nearby flows, like Hucks Slough. The amount of rain that falls at Lake Trail is close to the national average; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while December is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Mormon Spring is a stunning spot to stop at while you're at Lake Trail, and there's whitewater on Colorado River for all you adrenaline kick people.
    During the warm days of summer at Lake Trail highs are frequently in the 90's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 70's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 50's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for Lake Trail. Gotta get out of the city man, and Lake
Trail in Travis County, Texas is a perfect place for getting out.
Coming to this river is always a good idea. Tom Miller Dam is worth visiting since you're here, and Lake Trail is a glorious place to camp, Bel-aire Mobile Home Park is a glorious place. There are some nice whitewater spots on Shoal Creek, and hey, Dry Creek is a splendid local stream.
There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Lake Trail. This is a popular place for folks from Austin-Round Rock; a short trip to Mount Bonnell Spring is always worthwhile.
