| | While visiting this area in Texas it's a good idea to go hiking too. Turkey Bend Trail is very far from the nearest big city and trails like these are great. Camping at Camp Chautauqua is always a great experience; Spanish Oak Creek is near Turkey Bend Trail and is always a bliss to pop by. Camping is available at Mount View Lodge and Marina, and there are some good whitewater spots on Pedernales River.
During the summertime months here at Turkey Bend Trail, high temperatures mostly reach the 90's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 70's. |
The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Turkey Bend Trail temperatures drop to the 30's. This river is a wonderful place to visit. If you come at the right time of year, Cow Creek offers some splendid whitewater.
