  We all need to get out in nature once in a while and Lake Desolation Trail in Salt Lake County, Utah is a great place to go. There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Wasatch Range, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. At Lake Desolation Trail you don’t see much rain; April is the wettest month with most rain while July is commonly the driest month.
Throughout the long summer days at Lake Desolation Trail highs are regularly in the 90's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; through
    the dark hours in the winter at Lake Desolation Trail temperatures sink to the 10's. So many enjoyable things to do at Lake Desolation Trail, so little time. Stay the night at Maple Cove Campground; a great spot for whitewater paddling is Big Cottonwood Creek. This river is a great
place to visit. Greens Basin is a picturesque location any time of year, and Lake Desolation Trail is a pleasant place to camp, The Spruces Campground is a pleasant place.
Little Water Gulch is a delightful site to take a look at nearby; let's not forget Beartrap Fork which is a stream that you may bump into during your stay. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Wasatch Range. Timpanogos Cave National Monument is a good location in the vicinity of Lake Desolation Trail, and Days Fork is one of the streams close by
 
that might be worth visiting.
Yep, outdoors exciting things truly is bountiful here in the Wasatch Range. Places like Mats Basin are brilliant to pop by; get your pulse rate up on the tremendous whitewater of East Canyon Creek. While visiting this area in Utah it's a good idea to go hiking too. You'll have to go far from Salt Lake City to get to Lake Desolation Trail but there's great natural beauty awaiting you along it.
