If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Big Cottonwood Creek, and California National Historic Trail is one of the destinations that are splendid to check out close by. Summertime highs at The Sheep Trail regularly tend to be in the 90's, and the overnight is rather colder of course, usually in the 60's.
