| | Utah is a great place for hikers. At Trail of the Ancients during the summer highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and night lows at Trail of the Ancients throughout the wintertime generally dip into the 10's. Because Trail of the Ancients is very far from civilization hiking along this trail is very enjoyable.
Trail of the Ancients is pretty dried out usually; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while June is the month with the |
least amount of precipitation. Do set aside some time for Cowboy Pasture while you're here at Trail of the Ancients, and camping at Sand Island Campground is always a great experience. Camping is available at Kampark, and in the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on San Juan River.
