Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in nature a bit and if you happen to be in Washington County of Utah, Whipple Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. South Valley is a splendid location to check out, and camping at Upper Pines Campground is always a delightful experience. This river has it all. Whipple Trail is great enough to spend more than a day at, Pines Campground is a great local campground; Hop Canyon is a good spot to explore.     Summertime highs at Whipple Trail regularly tend to be in the 80's. Summer night lows dip down to the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Whipple Trail. Whipple Trail is mostly a reasonably dried out spot; through the month of March you get the most rain around here; June is when it's the driest. Get dripping wet paddling on Virgin River. You'll have to go far from St. George to get to Whipple Trail but what a great place for hiking it is.
