You'll have to go far from Bluefield to get to Bobby's Trail but when you spend some time hiking here you will feel like a whole new person. In the Blue Ridge Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails where beautiful scenery awaits you. High temperatures at Bobby's Trail through the summertime months are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's; throughout the dark hours |
in the winter at Bobby's Trail temperatures sink to the 20's.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend New River - South Fork, and obviously Hurricane Creek is a scenic stream that is worth checking out. Bobby's Trail is a pleasant place
| to visit for more than one day, Raccoon Branch Campground is a pleasant place to camp nearby, and close by you find Dickey Gap which is a nice site to stop at. Hiking in Virginia is such a great thing to do.
Hurricane Campground is a splendid campground nearby. The high level of rainfall makes Bobby's Trail a relatively wet place; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is November.
Yep, outdoors cool stuff truly is abundant here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. If you come at the right time of year, Big Wilson Creek offers some good whitewater, and why not explore close by Shanty Branch while you're here at Bobby's Trail. | |
