| | This part of Virginia is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. Burke Trail is located quite a long drive from Staunton-Waynesboro but it's one of those places where hiking is great. Summertime highs at Burke Trail regularly tend to be in the 80's while overnight lows are typically in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Burke Trail. Take a side visit to Guys Run, and if you came to camp Cold Sulphur Camp Ground is a tremendous location to do that.

paddling next to Burke Trail is Laurel Run, and Burke Trail is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Long's Campground is a glorious local campground. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff at Burke Trail. The Pastures is right here at Burke Trail.
| The surroundings of this river have so much to offer. You can run the rapids of Calfpasture River close to Burke Trail, and close by you stumble on Snead Hollow which is a great place to pop by.
Chinquapin Branch is a splendid location to stop by, and you can take a little visit to Goshen Dam while you're here at Burke Trail. Burke Trail gets a lot of water; through July this area sees the most rain while December is frequently the driest month.
