  A visit to Virginia is not complete without some hiking. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while and Crawford Mountain Trail in Augusta County, Virginia is a perfect place for getting out. Sixteenmile Branch is a striking stream that is worth a visit, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Jennings Branch. If you came for an overnight stay Stokesville Park Recreational is a pleasant spot
    to camp, and during your trip here you'll meet some folks from West Augusta for sure. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Calfpasture River; why not pop by close by Coalpit Run if you're here at Crawford Mountain Trail.
Camping is available at North River Campground, and Red Oak Spring is always fun to check out. What a location this is for outdoors folks. At Crawford Mountain Trail during the summer months highs are in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Crawford Mountain Trail. Crawford Mountain Trail gets a normal amount of rainfall. Of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain; January on the other hand is the driest.
