| | Put on your hiking shoes and hit the trail, Crigger Creek Trail in Smyth County, Virginia is such a great place. A long drive separates Bluefield from Crigger Creek Trail, but hiking is such a fun thing to do and this is a great place to do that. A good deal of rainfall falls at Crigger Creek Trail; through the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is November. There's so much to do here at Crigger Creek Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Raccoon Branch Campground is a good spot for that, and if you come at |
the right time of year, New River offers some pleasant whitewater.
If you came to camp Grayson Highlands State Park is a brilliant spot to do that, and why not stop by close by Middle Creek since you're here at Crigger Creek Trail. This river is so wonderful. If you desire
| a little side trip, try Shop Hollow, and if you're here, you could visit Granny Branch. For the period of the warm days of summer at Crigger Creek Trail temperatures are mostly in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's while Crigger Creek Trail nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's.
Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend New River. Virginia is a great place for hikers. | |
